Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate In Home Caregiver to provide comprehensive support and assistance to individuals in their own homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, home health, and community care, with a genuine commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, monitoring health conditions, and supporting clients through compassionate and professional caregiving practices. Responsibilities Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support to clients with diverse needs. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans. Support clients with mobility using proper manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods. Administer medications safely following prescribed instructions while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a respectful and trusting relationship. Facilitate transportation for appointments or errands, ensuring safety during travel and adherence to client schedules. Qualifications Prior experience working as a caregiver in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities support. Familiarity with patient observation techniques, care plans development, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while maintaining client dignity and comfort. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities supports is preferred. Knowledge of resident's rights, HIPAA compliance, and confidentiality standards essential for delivering ethical care.
