Direct Support Staff

Position Summary Direct Support Staff (DSS) provide day-to-day, hands-on support to participants, promoting independence, personal growth, community involvement, and skill development. DSS team members deliver individualized services rooted in Person-Centered Thinking and positive support strategies. Minimum Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license
• High school diploma or GED
• CPR/First Aid certification - we can provide training
• TB/health clearance - we can help
• DOJ/FBI criminal background clearance
• Effective communication skills Duties & Responsibilities Direct Support Staff shall:
• Provide personal care and support with ADLs (hygiene, meals, mobility, etc.)
• Implement ISPs, BSPs, and individualized skill-building plans
• Support communication using verbal, non-verbal, or AAC methods
• Promote social, vocational, and community participation
• Ensure participant safety and monitor health & behavioral changes
• Document program activities, data, incidents, and progress notes
• Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and team members
• Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe program environments
• Support transportation and supervise community outings
• Fulfill mandated reporting obligations
