Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care:
Assist clients with personal hygiene. This may include bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Mobility Assistance:
Monitor residents mobility, including ability to transfer, and use mobility aids. Assist as needed. Report any significant change.
Medication Management:
Provide medication assistance per regulations and as prescribed. Monitor for side effects.
Daily Living Activities:
Support clients with meal preparation, housekeeping, medication management, and laundry.
Accompany:
Accompany on medical/ dental appointments, social outings, and community activities.
Emotional Support:
Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and respectful living environment.
Health Monitoring:
Observe and report any changes in clients health or behavior to healthcare professionals, and administration upon occurrence.
Community Engagement:
Encourage and assist clients in participating in social and recreational activities.
Advocacy:
Advocate for clients rights and needs, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and services.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of care provided. Chart residents progress through shift notes, tracking, and communication logs.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in caregiving or ability to obtain upon hire
Experience:
Minimum 6 months experience in a caregiving role, especially with elderly or disabled individuals, is preferred.
Skills:
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and assisting with mobility.
Certifications:
HCA, or DSP, CPR/ First Aid certification, CPI/ MAB (or willingness to obtain).
