Daytime Caregiver -

Murrieta, CA Facility Type:
Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
Schedule:
Full-Time Day Shift (Typical hours: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM ) About Us Coastal Haven Living is a licensed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care in a safe, engaging, and home-like environment. We support residents with daily living needs, memory care, meaningful activities, and nutritious meals while promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life. Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and engaging Daytime Caregiver to support residents during daytime hours. This role requires hands-on caregiving, meal preparation , leading daily activities , and actively engaging with residents to promote emotional, physical, and social well-being. The ideal candidate enjoys working closely with seniors, can multitask in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of creating a warm, interactive, and structured daily routine. Key ResponsibilitiesResident Care & Engagement Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, and mobility assistance. Encourage and support resident independence while ensuring safety and comfort. Fully engage with residents through conversation, companionship, redirection, and emotional support . Monitor residents for changes in physical or mental condition and report concerns promptly to the administrator or med tech. Accurately document care provided, observations, and incidents in daily logs. Follow individualized care plans in compliance with Title 22 RCFE regulations. Activities & Programming Plan, lead, and participate in 1-2 structured activities daily , appropriate to residents' abilities and cognitive levels.
Examples include:
chair exercises, music therapy, arts & crafts, games, reminiscence activities, puzzles, and guided walks. Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to meet memory care or mobility needs. Promote social interaction and create a positive, stimulating daytime environment. Assist with special events, holidays, and family visits when applicable. Meal Preparation & Nutrition Prepare and serve nutritious, balanced meals and snacks in accordance with resident dietary needs and physician orders. Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards at all times. Assist residents during meals, including feeding assistance when required. Clean and sanitize kitchen, dining areas, and equipment after meals. Monitor residents' food and fluid intake and report concerns (e.g., poor appetite, choking risk). Housekeeping & Facility Duties Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and common areas throughout the day. Perform light housekeeping duties including laundry, linen changes, dishwashing, trash removal, and restocking supplies. Ensure resident bathrooms and high-touch areas are sanitized regularly. Maintain a safe, odor-free, and welcoming environment. Safety & Compliance Adhere to Title 22 RCFE regulations and facility policies. Assist with medication reminders or medication administration support if trained and authorized. Follow proper infection control and PPE procedures. Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow facility emergency protocols. Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns immediately. Qualifications & Requirements Must be at least 18 years old.
Experience:
Minimum 6 months caregiving experience in an RCFE, assisted living, memory care, or home care setting (preferred).
Certifications & Clearances:
CPR & First Aid certification (required). Live Scan background clearance through CA Department of Social Services (required). TB test clearance and health screening (required). RCFE caregiver training or related certification (preferred). Ability to safely lift, transfer, and reposition residents (up to 50 lbs). Comfortable cooking for multiple residents and following dietary guidelines. Energetic, patient, and genuinely enjoys interacting with seniors. Strong communication, time management, and documentation skills. English proficiency required; bilingual a plus. Physical & Environmental Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching. Exposure to cleaning agents, kitchen equipment, and bodily fluids (PPE provided). Ability to stay active, alert, and engaged throughout the shift.
