  • Oakland/Piedmont, CA An Oakland, CA family is seeking a reliable, warm, and highly organized after-school caregiver to support their two daughters, ages 10 and 13, and occasionally provide medical transport for an adult family member.
The household includes two friendly rescue dogs, so applicants must be comfortable in a pet-friendly environment.

Family Specifications:
The household includes two pre-teen/teen girls, an adult family member requiring occasional transport, and two rescue dogs (25 lbs and 60 lbs). The family values a caregiver who brings a steady, supportive presence and excels at managing afternoon logistics. The ideal candidate holds exceptional standards for driving safety, remains calm under pressure, and demonstrates excellent situational awareness. The family appreciates clear, proactive, and direct communication regarding schedule changes, traffic conditions, or afternoon updates.
Responsibilities:
Provide safe, punctual pick-ups from school for the two daughters. Transport the girls to after-school practices, swim/athletic activities, and local appointments. Provide occasional driving assistance for an adult family member to regional medical appointments, including weekly physical therapy (approx. 7 miles away) and oncology appointments (approx. 15 miles away). Manage afternoon transitions by ensuring gear is packed, pre-practice snacks are ready, and activities start on time. Support basic afternoon structure and routine upon returning home. Encourage the children's responsibility around personal belongings, gear, and afternoon cleanup.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in childcare, private nanny work, or family coordination. Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record. Reliable, well-maintained personal vehicle capable of safely transporting two teenagers and sports equipment. Current auto insurance coverage (proof required). CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain prior to start date). Comfortable working in a home with dogs.
Compensation:
$28.00
  • $35.
00 per hour (depending on experience), paid legally on-the-books via payroll service. Full mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard rate (76¢/mile) for all driving conducted on duty. Paid California mandatory sick leave provided. All candidates will be subject to a background check. This position requires proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
