Private In-Home Caregiver — Point Loma

• 28 per hour | Point Loma, San Diego | Private Household We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, patient, and attentive caregiver to join our caregiving team and provide care for an elderly woman in her private home in Point Loma.

This is an ongoing private household position with part-time and per-diem availability. It includes three available shifts, :

Morning:

5:00 AM

• 1:30

PM Evening:

1:00 PM

• 9:30

PM Overnight:

9:00 PM

• 5:30 AM There is a 30-minute overlap between shifts for caregiver communication and handoff.

Responsibilities Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Provide mobility assistance and transfers Prepare and assist with meals Provide medication assistance according to the established care routine Provide companionship and supervision Assist with activities and appointments Perform light housekeeping related to the client's care Monitor and communicate changes in condition, mood, or behavior Communicate important updates to the next caregiver Dementia & Memory Care The client experiences dementia and memory-related symptoms . We are looking for someone who is patient, calm, reassuring, and comfortable providing gentle redirection when needed. Caregivers should be comfortable handling occasional confusion, repetition, anxiety, or changes in behavior with kindness and understanding. Previous dementia-care experience is required. Home Environment There is a small dog in the home , so applicants must be comfortable around dogs and willing to assist with basic pet-related needs when appropriate. The first four weeks after the start date will be an evaluation period to ensure the position is a good fit for both the caregiver and the household. Evaluation will include reliability, quality of care, communication, dementia-care skills, professionalism, and overall fit with the caregiving team. Our priority is finding someone who genuinely enjoys caring for older adults and can provide a safe, comfortable, respectful, and supportive environment .
