San Francisco Peninsula, South Bay & South Santa Clara County About SC Aftercare Solutions SC Aftercare Solutions provides private, personalized aftercare support for individuals recovering from cosmetic and elective surgical procedures throughout the Bay Area. Our team steps in when a patient would otherwise rely on a friend or family member after surgery, providing compassionate one-on-one companionship and recovery support in the patient's home, hotel, or other private recovery setting. We are currently seeking experienced, dependable, and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to join our growing team as independent contractors. Service Area Our patients are located throughout the Peninsula, South Bay, and South Santa Clara County.

Palo Alto Menlo Park Atherton Los Altos Mountain View Sunnyvale Cupertino Saratoga Santa Clara San Jose Campbell Los Gatos Morgan Hill Contractors should have reliable transportation and be comfortable traveling to patient homes, hotels, surgical centers, and physician offices throughout the areas in which they choose to accept assignments. About the Role As an LVN with SC Aftercare Solutions, you will provide personalized, one-on-one postoperative support for individuals recovering from cosmetic and elective surgical procedures. Our caregivers serve as a trusted companion during recovery when a patient's friend or family member is unable to provide the level of support they need. This is a great opportunity for LVNs interested in plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, aesthetics, postoperative recovery, and private-duty care who are looking for flexible work outside of a traditional bedside environment. Assignments are offered based on patient needs, location, and contractor availability.

Assignments May Include:

2-hour postoperative aftercare check-ins 12-hour daytime or overnight care 24-hour postoperative care Custom hourly care arrangements Transportation to postoperative appointments Pickup and transportation following surgery Accompanying patients to follow-up appointments when needed Because surgical schedules can change, contractors should also be comfortable with occasional changes to patient pickup or start times due to procedures or PACU recovery running longer than anticipated. Responsibilities Responsibilities will vary based on the individual patient's procedure and recovery needs and may include: Providing compassionate companionship and reassurance during recovery Assisting patients with activities of daily living Helping patients safely ambulate and reposition Assisting with meals, hydration, and general comfort Providing postoperative and incision care within the LVN's permitted scope Assisting with medications as appropriate and within scope Supporting patients with compression garments and other postoperative instructions Observing patients for changes or potential postoperative concerns Communicating relevant concerns to the appropriate party Following postoperative instructions provided by the patient's surgical team Accompanying or transporting patients to postoperative appointments Maintaining a clean, calm, comfortable recovery environment Contractors should be comfortable working independently in private homes and hotels while maintaining excellent professionalism, discretion, and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications Required:

Current, unrestricted California LVN license Current BLS/CPR certification Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Ability and willingness to travel to assignments within our service area Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent reliability and punctuality Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care Comfortable working independently Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality Flexible availability for per-diem assignments Highly Preferred Previous experience caring for cosmetic or plastic surgery patients Postoperative or surgical experience PACU, med-surg, home health, private-duty, or aesthetic medicine experience Familiarity with postoperative incision care Familiarity with surgical drains and compression garments Experience assisting patients with safe postoperative mobility and positioning Familiarity with common postoperative instructions and recognizing when a concern should be escalated Experience with patients recovering from procedures such as facelift/neck lift, breast augmentation or lift, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposuction, body contouring procedures, brachioplasty, and facial laser procedures is especially valuable. Schedule & Availability This is a per-diem independent contractor opportunity, and hours will vary depending on patient bookings. Assignments may occur during the day, evening, overnight, or on weekends. Some postoperative pickups may occur later than originally scheduled due to surgery or recovery times. Contractors can accept assignments based on their availability. This opportunity may be especially well suited for LVNs who already work part-time, per diem, or flexible schedules and would like to supplement their income with private one-on-one postoperative care. Independent Contractor Position This position is structured as an independent contractor (1099) opportunity rather than a traditional full-time or part-time employee position. Contractors are offered individual patient assignments based on patient needs, location, experience, and availability. Our patients may be anxious, uncomfortable, tired, or temporarily dependent on others following surgery. We are looking for LVNs who can provide a calm, reassuring, attentive, and professional presence while helping patients feel safe and supported throughout their recovery.
