In this vital role, you will provide dedicated support to residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other cognitive disabilities within a specialized memory care setting. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support, ensuring comfort and safety at all times Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status and report any concerns promptly Implement personalized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, preferences, and cognitive abilities Support residents during meal times by preparing nutritious meals, assisting with feeding if necessary, and encouraging independence where possible Engage residents through meaningful activities that stimulate memory and cognition, fostering social interaction and emotional well-being Follow strict safety protocols for manual handling and safe patient lifting practices to prevent injury to residents and staff Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, medication administration, behavioral observations, and resident progress in compliance with regulatory standards Uphold residents' rights by respecting their dignity, privacy, and individuality while providing compassionate care in a residential or assisted living environment Skills Proven experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes with a focus on memory or dementia care Strong understanding of Alzheimer's disease, dementia management strategies, and behavioral management techniques Ability to assist with ADLs effectively while promoting resident independence whenever possible Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medication administration procedures, and first aid/CPR certification for emergency response preparedness Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments in residential or community care settings Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents, families, and team members to ensure coordinated care Physical stamina for heavy lifting, safe patient handling practices, and assisting residents with mobility needs This role is an essential part of our Welbrook mission to deliver exceptional senior care through compassion, professionalism, and respect.
