Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated caregiving team as an Urgent Caregiver providing compassionate, high-quality support to individuals in need of personal care and assistance during the afternoon shift from 3 PM to 9 PM. This vital role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients requiring assistance with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional support. We are seeking energetic, detail-oriented caregivers committed to delivering exceptional home and community care, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity for those we serve. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, documenting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Administer medications following prescribed care plans and ensure proper medication management. Support clients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through memory care techniques and personalized engagement strategies. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments or community outings, ensuring client safety at all times. Requirements Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes. Knowledge of patient observation, monitoring vital signs, medication administration, and emergency procedures including CPR and first aid certification. Familiarity with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's care, hospice support, and dementia care. Ability to handle heavy lifting and assist with patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or other manual handling equipment safely. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA standards. Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Valid certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in home health or hospice care are a plus.
