Job Summary:

Direct Care Staff is responsible for providing daily care, supervision, and support to youth in the facility in accordance with trauma-informed practices and California Community Care Licensing (Title 22) regulations. Responsibilities include supervising youth activities, passing/managing medications, documenting, preparing meals, transporting youth to school and appointments, facilitating planned activities and outings, supporting youth through behavioral challenges, assisting with grievances, and maintaining a safe, clean, and structured living environment. This role also supports in maintaining a consistent, therapeutic, and positive home. The employee must be able to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies, behavioral escalations, staff conflicts, and regulatory crises. Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications: 1. A high school diploma; OR 2. Completion of 15 units in Child Development or behavioral science courses; OR 3. Completion of 12 semester hours in Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, or Foster/Kinship Care Education and at least 100 hours of experience working with youth; OR 4. A valid certificate as an Alcohol Counselor, Drug Counselor, or Alcohol and Drug Counselor with at least 100 hours of experience working with youth; OR 5. A valid vocational training certificate, credential, or documentation showing journeyperson status plus at least 100 hours of youth mentoring/coaching/tutoring or similar youth experience as determined by CDSS; OR 6. At least one year of previous full-time employment or volunteer service in a group home, adult residential facility, STRTP, or substance abuse treatment program; OR 7. Relevant life experience in child welfare, mental health, foster care, or similar systems as a consumer, mentor, caregiver, or comparable role as determined by CDSS.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment health screening (LIC503)
• Must have a valid California Driver's License, vehicle registration, insurance, and be insurable under agency policy.
