Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assisted Living Caregiver to join our team at Huntington Retirement. This full-time or part-time position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional care and support to residents in a vibrant senior living community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in assisted living, memory care, and geriatrics, demonstrating a genuine commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life through personalized care. You will be responsible for assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and fostering a warm, respectful environment. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health stability. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or cognitive disabilities, employing effective behavior management techniques. Administer medication following prescribed protocols while maintaining accurate documentation. Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and hydration to promote proper nutrition and hydration. Follow safe patient lifting practices and manual handling procedures to prevent injury for both residents and staff. Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas through regular cleaning and sanitation practices. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and address needs promptly. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or retirement homes is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care, and dementia-specific strategies is essential. Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic first aid or CPR certification is required. Background in long-term care settings or home & community care environments is advantageous. Familiarity with resident's rights, behavioral management techniques, and safe patient handling practices is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with seniors and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Previous roles involving caregiving in residential or group home settings will be considered an asset.
