Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs. Monitor patient observations by checking vital signs and recognizing changes in health status. Support medication administration under the supervision of healthcare professionals, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to medical protocols. Provide specialized care for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral management techniques. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, hospice support, and emergency response actions like CPR when necessary. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with feeding; perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities is highly preferred. Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia enhances your ability to provide compassionate support. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with long-term care practices are advantageous. Home Care Aide certification is required Proven ability to work independently while following detailed care plans; experience working in home health or community care settings is valued. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
