Job Description
We are looking to hire someone to work 15-20 hours per week for the following shift: Weekdays 3 PM to 8 PM Pay is $23 per hour with potential for increase based on performance and experience. You will be paid through a local payroll service. Benefits include health insurance subsidy, paid time off, and time and a half pay on select holidays. This job is located in Suffield, CT. We are looking for an experienced personal care assistant to support a college educated 33 year old with muscular dystrophy with all activities of daily life. If you're a compassionate, positive person with a sense of humor who isn't afraid to learn new things, then this is a job for you. We expect you to be polite and a good communicator. Experience working with clients with a ventilator and/or a Foley catheter will make you a strong candidate. Work takes place in the client's home, which is a clean and safe environment. The client has a cat that is very friendly. Training will be provided. Responsibilities Help with transfers using a ceiling lift Ensure client receives their medication Support client who can't move on their own Help client dress, bathe, eat etc. Cook meals according to the customer's restrictions Do necessary light housekeeping to maintain a clean environment Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency Breathing machine basics (BiPAP) Empty Foley catheter bag
