Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated team as an In Home Caregiver and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring personalized care and support. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate assistance with daily living activities, monitor health and safety, and create a warm, respectful environment for clients across various settings. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure each client receives the highest quality of care, promoting independence, comfort, and well-being within their homes or community residences. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report changes promptly to healthcare professionals to ensure optimal health management. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary, supporting overall health and wellness. Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and privacy. Support clients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques and personalized engagement strategies. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments, social outings, or errands to promote community involvement and independence. Document care activities accurately in client records, communicate effectively with families and healthcare teams, and adhere to all safety protocols including first aid and CPR procedures. Experience Prior experience working in home health care, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or intellectual disabilities support experience is advantageous. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and memory care best practices is desirable. Familiarity with patient monitoring tools such as vital signs measurement devices and medication administration protocols is essential. Experience utilizing patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts or other manual handling devices is beneficial. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams are required. Certification in CPR, first aid, or other relevant caregiving credentials will enhance your application.
