Job Description

This position is currently part-time however we will have full-time openings soon. Scope:
To provide those residents participating in a CERTUS Enhancement Package with social engagement (or as a social companion) in a dignified, compassionate manner while encouraging as much independence as possible.Education :
High school diploma or equivalent.Experience :
Prefer minimum 6 months of experience in assisted living or skilled care environment (but not necessary for the Social Companion Role; excellent customer service skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively with team members.Essential Job Functions:
- Taking a genuine interest in assigned residents by listening to their needs, ensuring they feel safe, and providing them with social, physical, intellectual, and nutritional engagement.
- Assist resident with ambulation by encouraging consistent use of walking aides (cane, walker, corrective shoes), escort resident to and from their destination, and educate resident on fall prevention measures.
- Assist wellness team with redirecting concerning behaviors such as wandering and agitation.
- Communication with care team the resident's needs and expressions (behaviors).
- Document and track resident engagement via CERTUS technology platform.
- Participate in community activities or special events; encourage residents' involvement in activities and events.
- Assist with mealtime service in the dining room to include serving meals, clearing tables, resetting tables, and any other related duties as required.
- Utilize CERTUS engagement curriculum in engage resident.
- Guide or cue resident to the bathroom or to meals.
