Job Description
Join Dementia Companions as an In-Home Dementia Caregiver and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families navigating dementia and memory loss. Dementia Companions connects experienced caregivers with families who need compassionate, dependable, dementia-focused support at home. Our goal is to help individuals remain safe, comfortable, and supported in familiar surroundings while giving families greater confidence and peace of mind. As a caregiver with Dementia Companions, you will provide personalized companionship and hands-on support based on each client's needs, routines, and care plan. We value caregivers who understand that dementia care is not only about completing tasks,it is about patience, trust, dignity, communication, and creating a sense of familiarity and security. Duties Provide compassionate, one-on-one care for individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer's. Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene. Support safe mobility, transfers, and positioning as needed. Provide companionship and meaningful engagement through conversation, activities, walks, and familiar routines. Prepare meals and assist with eating while following the client's dietary needs and preferences. Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment. Support clients with daily routines and appointments as appropriate. Observe changes in behavior, mood, mobility, or overall well-being and communicate concerns appropriately. Follow the client's established care instructions and family preferences. Build a trusting relationship with both the client and their family. Provide dementia care with patience, respect, and an understanding of each person's individual needs. Requirements Hands-on experience caring for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's. Previous experience as a CNA, HHA, companion caregiver, personal caregiver, or similar role. Strong understanding of dementia-related behaviors and the importance of patience and consistency. A compassionate, dependable, and respectful approach to caregiving. Ability to communicate clearly with clients, families, and the Dementia Companions team. Ability to assist with ADLs and mobility safely. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus. Experience with transfers, including Hoyer lifts, is a plus. Reliable transportation may be required depending on the client and assignment. Professional references and background screening may be required.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per weekBenefits:
