Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance and support to residents in a nursing home or memory care facility
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record vital signs of residents
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and restrictions
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and social workers, to ensure the well-being of residents
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond to emergencies
- Familiarity with memory care techniques and strategies is a plus
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with elderly individuals
- Attention to detail in providing care and documenting resident information
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
