Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Newborn Caregiver with experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional care for newborns and their families. In this vital role, you will support new parents by ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of their infants through attentive caregiving, health monitoring, and personalized assistance. Your energetic approach will help create a nurturing environment where both baby and family feel supported and confident during this special time. Duties Provide hands-on care to newborns, including feeding, diapering, bathing, and soothing techniques to promote healthy development. Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, weight, and feeding patterns while maintaining accurate medical documentation. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) for infants, including sleep routines and developmental activities. Administer medications or treatments as prescribed under medical guidance, ensuring proper medication administration protocols are followed. Observe patient conditions closely, noting any changes or concerns related to health or behavior, and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare providers. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical records and documentation within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Support families with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, meal preparation suitable for infants, and maintaining a safe environment. Requirements Proven experience working with newborns or in assisted living environments caring for infants or young children. Valid certification as an HHA or CNA with current CPR and First Aid certifications. Knowledge of medical terminology related to neonatal care, medication administration, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring. Familiarity with home healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation procedures using EMR or EHR systems. Ability to perform patient transfer methods safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Experience working with families in home healthcare settings or hospice care is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and their families while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
