You will work alongside the current live-in employee to maintain a clean home environment and encourage clients to keep their rooms tidy. Responsibilities:
Medication Administration:
Your top priority will be administering medication to clients in the morning and at bedtime. Training will be provided, and the group home will cover the cost of the medication certification class. You will receive ongoing support from senior staff until you are confident in administering medication independently.
Daily Living Support:
Assist residents with daily activities such as brushing their teeth, washing hair, selecting clean clothes, and encouraging personal hygiene.
Mobility Assistance:
Help residents navigate their home safely, encouraging them to be mindful of their steps to prevent trips.
Errands and Shopping:
Occasionally assist residents with errands and shopping (this is rare).
Client Outings:
Every other weekend, clients participate in an outing of their choice (options include the library, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, parks, and Walmart). A valid driver's license is required, and you should be comfortable driving a minivan.
Dietary Support:
Assist residents with their dietary needs, including portion control and low-sodium options to support weight management.
Communication:
Communicate with healthcare professionals, family members, and friends as needed via the group home's phone.
