Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated LIVE-IN caregiver for the to join our team at an APD group home for disabled individuals. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to residents with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being, safety, and comfort. "This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities".
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and assistance to residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting. Assist with diaper changing for a client who require this level of care. Administer medications and monitor residents' health conditions. Ensure residents' safety and well-being by supervising them and responding to their needs promptly. Plan and facilitate engaging activities to promote socialization and skill development. Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents. Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and other staff members. Document and report any changes in residents' health or behavior to the appropriate personnel. Follow all policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Job Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a direct care provider for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Age:
Must be at least 21 years old.
Licensing:
Must have a valid driver's license (company car will be provided).
Background Check:
Ability to pass Level I and Level II background screenings and Local Law check.
Certifications:
Training can be provided to obtain some certifications CPR/First Aid
HIV/AIDS
Training HIPAA Compliance Direct Core Competencies Zero Tolerance Training Medication Administration and Validation Bloodborne Pathogen Training Any other in-service certifications related to the field.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Patience and empathy when working with individuals with special needs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Time Management Additional Information:
The company provides staff with meals and transportation for staff to transport consumers to various activities. Consumers are required to be in bed by 8:30 P.M. Staff sleep hours are not included in their salary.

Position Details:
Live-In Staff (Monday - Friday)
Compensation:
$650 per week (Includes room, board, meals, and basic household supplies such as toilet paper and cleaning products) Includes your own private room
Time Off:
Friday at 5:00 PM through Sunday evening
Responsibilities:
Supporting daily routines and personal goals of consumers Transporting consumers to doctor appointments and day programs Assisting with day-to-day care in a safe and respectful manner Passing out prescribed medications to consumers (training will be provided if needed) Promoting a positive and cooperative living environment
