Nursing Assistant Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aid to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for individuals with varying needs, including seniors and those with disabilities. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and vital sign monitoring. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or adverse reactions. Provide care for individuals with dementia and other cognitive impairments, ensuring their comfort and safety. Support patients with disabilities by facilitating mobility and promoting independence. Measure and record vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient status and care needs. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols. Qualifications Previous experience in caregiving or nursing assistance is preferred but not required. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and medical terminology is essential. Familiarity with dementia care techniques and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize and connect with patients from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
