Competitive, based on experience About the Role Compassion Healthcare Agency is seeking a female Life Skills Companion to support a male client with intellectual disabilities who is nonverbal and very active . This role centers on daily community involvement , fun activities , and educational engagement that help him grow, explore, and stay active. Key Responsibilities Participate in daily community activities (parks, recreation centers, events, walks, etc.) Provide fun, active, and educational experiences tailored to his interests Support communication using gestures, visual cues, or sign language Encourage independence, social interaction, and safe participation Maintain a patient, positive, and structured environment Ensure safety during all outings and transitions Complete documentation according to agency and APD standards Ideal Candidate Female caregiver preferred Energetic, active, and enjoys being outdoors and involved in the community Patient and comfortable supporting a nonverbal client Creative with planning daily activities and learning opportunities Able to follow routines and behavioral support strategies Sign language knowledge or willingness to learn is a strong bonus Requirements Reliable vehicle (daily community outings required) Valid Florida driver's license Level 2 Background Screening Experience with developmental disabilities preferred Ability to walk, lift, and stay active throughout the shift Dependable, professional, and committed to client safety Why Join Us Supportive, community‑focused agency Flexible scheduling Meaningful work helping clients thrive Opportunity to make a real impact every day
