Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in their own homes. This vital role involves delivering personalized care, promoting independence, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients across diverse needs. As an In Home Caregiver, you will play a key part in enhancing quality of life through attentive, respectful, and professional care. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, assessing symptoms, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Support clients with mobility using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques. Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, especially for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces. Assist with transportation for medical appointments or community activities, ensuring client safety at all times. Document care activities meticulously in accordance with healthcare standards and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams. Qualifications Prior experience working as a caregiver in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, autism, or dementia is advantageous. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in hospice care or Alzheimer's/dementia care is a plus. Familiarity with medication administration, care plans, manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts, and patient transfer methods. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility tasks involving patients with varying needs. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of client information. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client outings are preferred.
