Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to clients in their own homes. This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. As an In Home Caregiver, you will be a trusted companion and helper, ensuring that each individual's unique needs are met with kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail. Your efforts will directly enhance the quality of life for those you serve, fostering a safe and nurturing environment. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Support patients with medication administration and monitor vital signs as needed, following all HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences, while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments, errands, or social outings to promote community engagement. Observe patient conditions closely, noting any changes in health or behavior, especially in individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Implement care plans designed by healthcare professionals, ensuring all tasks align with the client's specific needs and safety protocols. Utilize proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility for clients with limited strength or mobility challenges. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care environments. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, and hospice care best practices. Familiarity with home health procedures including patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital signs measurement. Ability to perform patient observation accurately and respond promptly to emergencies using first aid and CPR skills. Experience working with residents in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly desirable. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Competence in manual handling techniques such as the use of Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods for safe mobility assistance.
