This is a rewarding long-term personal care assignment with a younger, active Veteran who values her independence and enjoys staying involved in activities both at home and in the community. We are looking for caregivers who are patient, attentive, confident with hands-on personal care, and — most importantly — exceptionally reliable .

Schedule & Pay Pay:

$20.00 per hour All shifts are 9:00 AM-5:00 PM . We need coverage 7 days per week and would ideally staff the case as:

Weekday Caregiver:

Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM — 40 hours/week

Weekend Caregiver:

Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM — 16 hours/week However, we are flexible in how the days are divided between the right two caregivers. For example, we are also open to: Caregiver 1: Monday-Thursday — 32 hours/week Caregiver 2: Friday-Sunday — 24 hours/week Weekend coverage is available immediately. The weekday position will become available within the next few weeks. Please include your available days when applying. Paid Client-Specific Training Provided This is a more involved personal care assignment, and we do not expect a new caregiver to walk into the home without learning the client's routine. Selected caregivers will receive at least one full day of paid, hands-on training with the client's current primary caregiver before independently taking over their assigned schedule. Training will include the client's: Daily routine and personal preferences Communication methods Personal care needs Transfer procedures and assistive equipment Mobility routine Household routine Preferred ways of receiving assistance while maintaining her independence Experience with Hoyer lifts, wheelchair transfers, mobility assistance, or caring for clients with significant physical disabilities is strongly preferred , but client-specific training will be provided. About the Client Our client is a younger Veteran with significant physical limitations who remains active, engaged, and involved in her own care. She enjoys activities such as painting, decorating, physical therapy and movement activities, outings, and errands. Although she requires substantial physical assistance, independence is extremely important to her. Caregivers should be comfortable asking before assisting rather than automatically taking over tasks she may wish to do herself. She has limited verbal communication and uses technology to help communicate. This is Personal Care , not a companion-only assignment. Responsibilities Care for this client may include: Assisting with bed baths and personal hygiene Dressing assistance Hoyer-assisted and other safe transfers Wheelchair and mobility assistance Medication reminders and assistance accessing pre-prepared medication containers Meal preparation Laundry Making the bed and changing linens Vacuuming, mopping, and light housekeeping related to the client's needs Helping locate and participate in PT/movement activities Accompanying the client to activities and errands Providing supervision and fall-prevention support Following the client's established plan of care Supporting the client's independence and preferences Communicating concerns or changes to the Homewatch CareGivers care team

IMPORTANT

- Severe Allergy Requirements This client has serious environmental allergies , so this assignment has stricter requirements than many of our other cases. Caregivers assigned to this client must be pet-free and smoke-free. The client has severe reactions to pet dander from fur-bearing animals , as well as smoke and smoke residue.

Caregivers must also:

Arrive completely free of smoke odor Avoid perfume, cologne, and strongly scented body products Avoid heavily scented lotions or similar products before the shift Be mindful of anything on clothing or personal belongings that could expose the client to allergens Please do not apply for this particular assignment if you have fur-bearing pets in your household or if you smoke. These requirements are specific to this client's significant allergy needs. Reliability Is Essential This client needs consistent caregivers she can get to know and trust. We are specifically looking for caregivers who take their schedules seriously and can commit to their assigned days on an ongoing basis. Punctuality and dependable attendance are essential for this case. This assignment is not a good fit for someone with unpredictable availability, frequent call-outs, or chronic lateness. We would much rather hire the right two people and build a stable care team than continually rotate different caregivers through the home. Who We're Looking For The right caregiver will be: Dependable and punctual Comfortable providing hands-on personal care Patient and respectful Attentive to client preferences and independence Comfortable learning and using assistive equipment Able to follow detailed care instructions Comfortable communicating with a client who has limited verbal communication Able to maintain a fragrance-free and allergen-conscious environment Interested in a consistent, ongoing assignment Willing to complete paid client-specific training before working independently Previous experience with Hoyer lifts, wheelchair transfers, stroke recovery, mobility limitations, or complex personal care is a plus.
