Private in home caregiver for young man with autism The Smith Family - 5.0 Roswell, GA Job Details Part-time $18 - $25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Resident personal care assistance Personal transportation assistance Working with adult populations Bathing assistance Meal assistance Full Job Description Job Summary Our family and long term staff are looking to ad an additional support person to our team for working the weekend shifts and filling in when other staff needs to be off. Care is for a 29 year old man with autism and medical issues such as blindness and seizure disorder as well as a sleep disorder that keeps him awake overnight sometimes three days in a row. The shift we need to fill is Friday evening and overnight. We have some flexibility on start and stop times for the shift between 5pm Friday and 6 am Saturday. This would be regular hours....and for the long term we hope!! Most of our staff has been with us a long time (4.5 to over 13 years) and we hope to continue that trend with any new staff we bring aboard. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Strict special diet to be followed. Provide companionship and emotional support Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including helping move around the home or go for walks in his wheelchair in the neighborhood light housekeeping tasks. personal care routines Read, okay music or other engaging activities but also provide space and down time as needed. Experience Previous experience with adults with autism preferred Ability to follow care plan and take regular daily notes A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. $18 to $25 per hour depending on experience and overall fit for the position.
