Job description Northwest College Support works alongside college-age students and individuals who are developing skills needed to live healthy, independent lives. At NWCS we provide an environment for change, guiding our students in the areas of education, mental health, life skills and overall wellness. Direct Care Staff support student plans, by building relationships with our students, modeling positive habits, providing opportunities for social engagement and supporting students' nighttime routines. Potential shifts for evening, weekend or graveyard. Flexibility with scheduling.

Salary/ Benefits:

$20-$21 per hour; health, vision and dental insurance; paid time off; maternity/ paternity leave; $1200 annual education stipend (after 90 days), your birthday off, and a fun work environment!

Position:

Direct Care Staff work directly with our students to guide them toward their goals.

This role can include:

Mentor young adults to create positive change in their lives. Engage students one on one or in small groups to support life skills. Lead healthy student activities (community, art, recreation, etc.). Support students to manage their evening routine. Foster a safe and inclusive environment. Provide transportation to school, work, volunteering, etc. Assist students with housekeeping tasks. Respond to crisis situations and provide de-escalation when needed. Conduct rounds, checking in with each student. Report student updates to leadership. Engage in our dynamic team approach to serving our students!

Requirements:

Strong desire to help people; high level of compassion and empathy Contribute to a positive and inclusive environment, supporting people of all backgrounds High level of professional maturity, resiliency, and good decision making. Strong communication skills and ability to work on a team. Basic cooking skills to support community dinners HS/ GED required; Associate's degree or beyond, preferred. Must be 21 years old, with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
