Job Description

Visiting Angels of East Central Indiana
  • Anderson, IN — serving Madison, Delaware, Henry, Grant, Hancock, Blackford & Randolph Counties On-call
  • Flexible
  • Competitive pay + rapid-response differential + monthly bonus eligibility Rapid Response is not a position.
It is a standard. When a family's plan falls apart — a sudden call-off, an urgent need for coverage — our Rapid Response Caregivers are the ones who step in. You are the reason a senior is never left without care when life doesn't go as planned. If you are the kind of person who is genuinely driven to care for others — who feels something real when an older adult gets to stay safe, comfortable, and dignified in their own home — this is where that drive becomes someone's best day. If you thrive on flexibility, take pride in being dependable, and want your reliability to actually mean something, read on. Is This You? You don't just do caregiving — you're built for it. Improving an elderly person's quality of life is the part of your day that feeds you. People can count on you, and you take that personally. You can walk into an unfamiliar home, sometimes mid-crisis, and bring calm in with you. You want to be part of building something — the best caregiving team in the region, not just another shift. You treat every client the way you'd want your own mother, father, or grandparent treated. If you read that and thought "that's me" — we want to meet you. What You'd Do As a Rapid Response Caregiver, you're part of our on-call team. Based on the availability you submit, we'll reach out when a fill-in shift opens. You accept, you arrive, and you bring steady, compassionate, non-medical care into a client's home — sometimes a familiar one, sometimes brand-new. You read the Care Plan, learn the client's name and preferences, and treat that visit as if it were your own regular client.
Provide companion and personal care:
help with daily routines, light housekeeping, meals, mobility, and a warm presence. Respond quickly to shift offers — even a "no" keeps the team moving. Document each visit accurately and on time in our WellSky app, including clock-in/out and client signature. Observe, report, and keep clients safe — you're our eyes in the home. What You'll Need A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance. The ability to pass an Indiana ISDH Level 2 background check and ongoing franchise screening. A smartphone for our scheduling and visit-documentation app. To be 18 or older and authorized to work in the U.S. Prior caregiving experience is a plus — but a willing heart, sound judgment, and rock-solid dependability matter most. Dementia Certification — if you're not already certified, we'll have you complete a course within your first three months, and we'll support you through it. New to professional caregiving? Welcome. New caregivers join our standard caregiver track and earn the Rapid Response designation as they build a track record of reliability. Already experienced? You may be considered for the designation sooner. Why Visiting Angels This role rewards the people who show up. Rapid Response Caregivers earn competitive pay [$15-$17/hr], a rapid-response differential for short-notice and urgent shifts, and monthly bonuses tied to reliability and excellent care. But the pay is only part of it. You'll join a team that lives by six clear values — Transparency, Accountability, Commitment, Positivity, Dignity, and Dependability — and means them. And you'll step onto a career path that grows with you: many caregivers hold the Rapid Response role alongside our standard caregiver track, building toward mentor, specialty, and supervisory roles over time. We're building the region's premier home care team. We'd love for you to be part of it. Ready to Step Up? Apply today and tell us why caring for others matters to you. We can't wait to meet you. for questions
