Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Support residents with mobility and transfers using manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare teams. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking. Administer medications following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Provide companionship and emotional support, ensuring clients feel valued and engaged in their routines. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and ensuring safety hazards are minimized. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Ability to observe patient conditions closely, including patient monitoring and recognizing signs requiring medical attention. Familiarity with assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health settings, and home & community care environments. Competence in using care equipment such as Hoyer lifts, manual handling tools, and performing patient transfers safely. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and coordination with healthcare providers. Certification in CPR and first aid; experience administering medication safely; understanding of HIPAA compliance. Ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary while maintaining safety standards; experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus.
