1/2022 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others may be assigned. Must have a CDA, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education Must be at least 18 years of age, (must be 21 years of age to work with infants) Prior Childcare experience preferred Must be CPR/First Aid certified- or willingness to obtain (must renew yearly) Knowledge of Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana licensing standards preferred.
Performance Responsibilities:
Others may be assigned. Ensure the smooth operation of the classroom in a calm and consistent manner. Maintain a clean and safe classroom. Ensure the classroom meets all Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana State licensing standards. Classrooms must be in compliance at all times. Strictly adhere to Safe Sleep guidelines for Child Care Centers. Monitor student's progress; communicate milestones with parents. Administer record keeping on all children; including but not limited to daily records, monthly observations, and bi-annual progress reports. Use curriculum effectively and write lesson plans based on each child's ability and developmental level. Maintain rapport with parents. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, I.E.: writing, typing, unlatching, unclasping, twisting lids, ensuring safe feeding temperatures, etc. The employee is regularly required to react and act quickly to ensure the safety and overall well-being of all children. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
