Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic DSP / Caregiver to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care to individuals across various settings. In this vital role, you will support residents with daily activities, promote their well-being, and ensure a safe, respectful, and engaging environment. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help enhance the quality of life for those in your care, fostering independence and dignity every day. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing valuable skills in caregiving and health support. Hours are 3:00pm-8:30am Monday through Friday. Sat and Sundays we have 9am-9am. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities accurately Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents' preferences Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation of living areas and common spaces Engage residents in social activities, group exercises, or recreational programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Follow resident's rights policies ensuring dignity, privacy, and personalized care at all times Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care plans and updates Experience Prior assisted living or long-term care experience preferred, especially in geriatrics or senior care environments Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's or dementia is highly valued Familiarity with home & community care practices or residential care home settings is advantageous Knowledge of safe patient lifting practices, manual handling techniques, and the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or group home equipment is essential Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in behavior management or medication administration is a plus Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with disabilities Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper body mechanics during resident transfers or mobility assistance Join us if you're passionate about delivering compassionate care that truly makes a difference!
