We are looking for permanent full time Support Workers to help the people we support in our Christchurch Residential Services. This is a leave cover role, which means that a high degree of flexibility will be required in terms of locations and rostering within the Christchurch area that you would be required to work in. What does a Support Worker do? | He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills. - The list is endless! Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters. Full driver's license is essential. Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own. Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends. Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
