Job Description

Caregiver / Sitter & Household Support
  • Multiple Shifts Available Baton Rouge, LA We are looking for dependable, compassionate caregivers/sitters to provide in-home care for an adult woman while also helping with general household upkeep.
This is a W-2 employee position, not an independent contractor/1099 role. This position combines personal care, supervision, companionship, and routine housekeeping . We are currently hiring for multiple types of coverage, including: Afternoon/evening shifts Weekend shifts Overnight/nighttime shifts PRN / fill-in coverage You do not need to be available for every shift. Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Provide supervision, companionship, reassurance, and redirection Assist with walking, transfers, wheelchair use, and mobility support Help with toileting, hygiene, dressing, and other personal-care needs Prepare or assist with simple meals and snacks Encourage fluids and follow established care routines Assist with routine medications according to written instructions Observe and communicate changes in mobility, behavior, eating, drinking, toileting, or overall condition Complete simple care documentation Perform general housekeeping duties, including dishes, laundry, sweeping/vacuuming, wiping surfaces, taking out trash, changing linens, tidying common areas, and organizing household or care supplies Help keep the bedroom, bathroom, and immediate care areas clean and organized Complete reasonable household tasks during quieter periods Follow established household and care routines What We're Looking For The right person is someone who: Is dependable and consistently shows up when scheduled Communicates promptly and reliably about scheduling Can follow written instructions and established routines Can work independently without needing constant direction Can read the room and adjust their approach based on mood, behavior, comfort, and what is happening in the home Notices when something changes and knows when to communicate it Uses good judgment and can respond appropriately without needing every situation spelled out in advance Is patient, calm, respectful, and comfortable providing hands-on personal care Is willing to help with general housekeeping as part of the position Is comfortable working in a home with dogs and cats Is a non-smoker and will arrive without smoke odor Has reliable transportation Previous experience as a caregiver, sitter, DSP, CNA, home-care worker, hospice caregiver, dementia caregiver, or disability-support worker is helpful, but reliability, judgment, communication, and overall fit are equally important .   • Complete Final Assessment Applicants who continue to move forward will complete a final assessment designed to evaluate overall fit, consistency, decision-making, and readiness for the position. Step 5
  • Interview / Next Steps Candidates who successfully complete all three assessments may be invited to interview and discuss scheduling, responsibilities, and next steps.
