Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing symptoms, and reporting changes promptly. Administer medications accurately according to care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed. Support mobility and transfers using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods to ensure safety for both clients and caregivers. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and organization of living spaces. Document care activities meticulously, update care plans regularly, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams and family members. Qualifications Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and recognize signs of distress or deterioration. Knowledge of medication administration, first aid, CPR certification, and manual handling techniques including heavy lifting. Experience working with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care or home health environments is advantageous. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and resident's rights to ensure privacy and dignity are upheld at all times. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation; ability to assist with transportation and mobility needs confidently. Valid certifications in first aid and CPR; experience using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts is a plus.
