Supervisor or Director Essential Responsibilities:
The Direct Care Professional will support residents in the Group Homes to become more independent in their daily living by: Help plan, prepare, & post a simple weekly menu & assist with safe eating protocols, if needed Prepare meals with Residents? assistance & support with transfer of items from place to place (i.e.: hot &/or breakable) Assist resident(s) with housekeeping, laundry, arrange clothing by outfit & other daily chores. Assist resident(s) with administration of medications. Assist with personal grooming, hygiene skills & ADLs as needed etc. Assist resident(s) in preparation for their morning, evening, or night routines. Review daily/weekly schedule & facilitate scheduled activities. Accompany to grocery shopping & other necessary personal needs shopping. Accompany residents(s) to a variety of fun activities & field trips as they are physically able. Accompany residents to doctor?s appointments if directed by GH Manager Manage any behavioral incidents according to PBS principles & in accordance with individual behavior plans Ensure & safeguard individuals? human dignity, rights & liberties Adhere to all LIFE Policies & Procedures Attend & participate in staff meetings, training & development as needed Intervene verbally & physically with individuals during behavior incidents
Preferred Education & Experience:
A valid driver\'s license & acceptable driving record CPR, AED, & First Aid certification - may be obtained after hire through LIFE Must attend MAP Certification Classes & work towards full certification Must have basic computer skills to complete notes & to check email Experience with Learning Disabled population, or Aging Population a plus (personal, or professional) Must be able to effectively communicate in both verbal & written form with supported individuals, co-workers, & parents Experience with our population or a similar vulnerable population
