Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to clients in their residences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized care such as dementia or Alzheimer's. As an In Home Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for clients through personalized care, attentive observation, and respectful communication. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Support clients with medication administration and monitor vital signs as required by care plans. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring proper food safety practices. Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community activities to promote independence. Observe and document changes in clients' health status or behavior, communicating effectively with healthcare professionals and family members. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry. Utilize proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques, including the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Qualifications Prior experience working in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred. Demonstrated ability to observe patient conditions accurately and respond appropriately in emergency situations through first aid and CPR certification. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of client information. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities support is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and their families while respecting resident's rights. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfers using appropriate techniques. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are often required for client visits.
