This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. As an In Home Caregiver, you will be a trusted companion and caregiver, helping clients with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional support. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure that each individual receives the highest quality of care in a respectful and nurturing environment. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Monitor patients' health by checking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary. Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Facilitate safe patient transfers using manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, especially for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Maintain cleanliness of the home environment through light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and organizing to ensure a safe living space. Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including escorting clients to appointments or community activities. Follow all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification requirements, and emergency response procedures. Document care activities accurately in client records, update care plans regularly, and communicate effectively with family members or healthcare teams. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes. Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, memory care, and Alzheimer's care strategies. Familiarity with home health procedures including medication administration, patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and HIPAA compliance. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper manual handling techniques; experience with Hoyer lifts is a plus. Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients respectfully while supporting their resident's rights and personal preferences. Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities; supporting intellectual disabilities is highly valued. Capable of assisting with complex care plans involving patient transfer methods and assisted living protocols. Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR certification to respond effectively during emergencies. Skilled in meal preparation tailored to specific dietary restrictions or health conditions; home & community care experience is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of caregiving excellence in home & long-term care environments.
