Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver to provide attentive support for a young child in Elkton, MD. This role involves working on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., ensuring the child's safety, well-being, and developmental needs are met with professionalism and care. The ideal candidate will possess a background working with children and/or children with disabilities. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a nurturing private home environment. Responsibilities Provide attentive supervision and engaging activities tailored to the child's age and developmental stage. Assist with daily routines such as meal preparation, feeding, and snack times, ensuring safety and nutritional needs are met. Support preschool activities and early childhood development exercises to promote learning and socialization. Maintain a clean and organized environment through residential housekeeping tasks, including tidying up play areas and children's belongings. Administer basic first aid and CPR if necessary, following safety protocols to ensure the child's health is protected at all times. Offer personal transportation assistance for appointments or outings as needed, ensuring safe travel practices. Collaborate with parents to implement care plans that accommodate any special needs or disabilities the child may have. Requirements Must be over the age of 18 and dependable Demonstrated ability to care for children and /or children with disabilities or special needs with patience and understanding. Certification in first aid and CPR from a recognized organization is required; ongoing training is preferred. Skills in meal preparation, including preparing nutritious snacks and meals suitable for young children. Experience with toddler care, infant care, and working within preschool environments is highly desirable. Ability to provide personal transportation assistance safely and responsibly. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and other household members.
