Job Overview Join our compassionate team as a Caregiver Companion, dedicated to providing exceptional support and personalized care to individuals in Germantown. This vital role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and fostering a warm, respectful environment. You will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve by offering attentive, empathetic care tailored to each person's unique needs. Whether working in a home setting or community-based environment, your energy and dedication will make a meaningful difference every day. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Support residents with medication administration and ensure adherence to care plans developed by healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary requirements and assist with meal planning and preparation to promote overall well-being. Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful conversations and activities to enhance mental health and reduce feelings of isolation. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Assist with transportation needs for appointments or community outings while ensuring safety during patient transfers using appropriate techniques like patient transfer methods or Hoyer lifts. Qualifications Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes. Strong knowledge of patient observation, monitoring vital signs, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and managing resident's rights. Familiarity with home health practices, hospice care principles, and long-term care environments is highly desirable. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting when necessary for patient transfers or mobility assistance. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional credentials such as HIPAA training or medication administration certification are a plus. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams; experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is advantageous.
