This vital role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities by delivering personalized care, ensuring safety, and fostering independence. The ideal candidate will be energetic, proactive, and committed to creating a warm, supportive atmosphere where residents feel valued and cared for around the clock. As a live-in caregiver, you will work closely with residents to meet their daily needs while maintaining a respectful and engaging environment. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Administer medication accurately according to prescribed schedules and document all medication interactions Support residents with dementia or cognitive disabilities through specialized memory care techniques and behavior management strategies Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and prevent injury Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area Engage residents in social activities, encourage participation, and promote mental well-being through companionship and conversation Qualifications Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes with a focus on senior or long-term care Strong knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support strategies, and memory care best practices Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in safe patient lifting practices is preferred Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is highly desirable Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles for community outings or appointments if needed Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with residents, families, and team members Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks and manual handling safely throughout shifts Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to resident safety and well-being Join us in creating a nurturing environment where seniors feel respected, supported, and empowered.
