Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Free live in accommodation provided
  • Provide direct care and assistance to individuals in an assisted living setting
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Administer medications and monitor vital signs as needed
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding
  • Engage in social activities and provide companionship to promote emotional well-being
  • Support individuals with dementia care needs and provide appropriate interventions
  • Help individuals maintain a clean and safe living environment
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a caregiver or in a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of direct support systems and techniques
  • Familiarity with dementia care practices and strategies
  • Ability to lift and transfer individuals safely using proper body mechanics
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for transportation needs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor
Skills:
  • Lift:
    Ability to safely lift and transfer individuals using proper techniques
  • Social work: Understanding of social work principles and ability to provide emotional support to individuals in need
  • Dementia care: Knowledge of dementia care practices and ability to implement appropriate interventions for individuals with dementia
  • Drive:
    Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to provide transportation as needed
  • Direct support: Familiarity with direct support systems and techniques for assisting individuals with disabilities or special needs
  • Systems:
    Ability to navigate electronic systems for documenting care provided and accessing relevant information
  • Home care: Experience providing care in a home setting, including assistance with activities of daily living
  • Vital signs: Proficiency in monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate
  • Assisted living: Understanding of the unique needs of individuals residing in assisted living facilities
  • Memory care: Knowledge of memory care practices and ability to provide appropriate support and interventions for individuals with memory loss
