Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and reliable Lead Staff to oversee the daily operations of a residential home supporting individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. The Lead staff is responsible for supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensuring quality care for residents, maintaining compliance with policies and regulations, and supporting individuals in living safe, meaningful, and independent lives. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is passionate about advocating for individuals with disabilities and creating a positive, supportive environment for both residents and staff.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in daily operations of the home Ensure residents receive quality care according to their PCP and/or Behavioral Plans. Coordinate and maintain staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing coverage Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to DSP staff Monitor documentation including daily notes, incident reports, and medication records Ensure compliance with state regulations, company policies, and safety standards Assist residents with daily living activities when needed (hygiene, meals, community outings, etc.) Communicate with families, case managers, and healthcare providers regarding residents' care Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment Manage household supplies, groceries, and basic budgeting for the home Respond to incidents or emergencies and ensure proper reporting procedures are followed Promote independence, dignity, and community participation for all residents
Qualifications:
Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred High school diploma or GED required (Associate or Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred) Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to manage staff, resolve conflicts, and maintain professionalism Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass background checks and meet state training requirements Medication Technician Certification (CMT), DDA and MANDT training,
