Independent Living Advisor (ILA), Salisbury, MD
An Independent Living Advisor (ILA) provides support, guidance and role modeling while supporting daily activities of individuals served. Services are individualized according to the needs of each individual which are provided in their homes and out in the community of the Salisbury, MD area so that they have independence in the community to lead full and happy lives. Assistance areas range from but are not limited topersonal hygiene, medication administration, advocacy, communication facilitation, money management, household management and much more.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required; one year related experience preferred; competency with basic independent living skills; must be flexible, able to work some evenings, awake overnights and weekends as well as work within a team approach environment. Need to have the ability to teach, advise and motivate people. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and good driving record required, as well as clean background check. Certification in CPR, 1st Aid and Medication Technician a plus as well as Fluency in ASL, preferred; but willing to train the right person. Must be available to work some evenings, weekends and holidays.
