Overview Join our compassionate team as a Live-In Caregiver, where your dedication and caring nature will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and health management. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to provide personalized, in-home care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. As a Live-In Caregiver, you will be an integral part of creating a comfortable, respectful environment for clients with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. Your energy and commitment will help foster a nurturing atmosphere that enhances quality of life. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive personal care assistance, including help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and dignity. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, medication administration, and overall condition; report changes promptly to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation. Support clients with medication management in accordance with care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality. Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning duties and organizing personal spaces. Facilitate transportation for appointments or errands using personal transportation assistance while ensuring safety at all times. Implement specialized care strategies for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other neurodevelopmental disorders, including memory care techniques. Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams to ensure consistent quality of care. Support hospice or palliative care needs by providing compassionate comfort and emotional support. Qualifications Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and first aid/CPR certification. Familiarity with care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), intellectual disabilities, or developmental disabilities. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and use patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Strong understanding of resident's rights, HIPAA compliance, and confidentiality standards. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Experience working with seniors or in geriatrics is highly valued. Ability to follow detailed care plans while adapting to individual needs dynamically. Valid driver's license preferred for client transportation assistance; must be able to pass background checks as required by state law.
