Shared Living Providers are independent contractors who open their homes and their hearts to help care for members of their community in need. Citizens of Maine is a small family owned company that was established in 2008. If you believe you have the time, space, and compassion to assist people, then this could be the right opportunity for you! Shared Living Providers are carefully screened and selected. An extensive matching process facilitates finding a home and family that will be a good fit for the individual and Provider. Each Shared Living arrangement is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of an individual while respecting their personality, capabilities and hopes for the future. The individual who joins you has their own room, is included in family activities and benefits from the host family's connections to the community. Each individual and Home Provider has support from a Shared Living Director who will oversee the care and continued success of each arrangement. Adult Shared Living Providers are independent contractors who receive a daily stipend, which is tax exempt, and a monthly room and board payment from the person to take care of added expenses to your family home. Shared Living Providers receive training as a Direct Support Professional and will receive First Aid/CPR certification and CRMA certification. Additional training may be required for specific needs. Must pass comprehensive background checks per state and company regulations/policies Wheelchair accessibility is a plus, but not required.
