Job Summary Live Better Home Care is now hiring! Join an up and coming personal care agency (PCA) team owned by a veteran PSS! We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in various care settings. In this vital role, you will assist clients with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, fostering a nurturing and respectful atmosphere. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Support clients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with client transfers Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meals while respecting dietary restrictions Engage clients in social activities, and recreational outings to promote mental well-being Maintain cleanliness of client homes. Follow safe patient lifting practices and manual handling procedures to prevent injury during caregiving tasks Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care plans and updates Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home care, or residential care homes is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's disease, memory care techniques, and geriatrics Experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care in long-term or home & community care settings Proven ability to work with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities in group home or social work environments Comfortable operating standard passenger cars for transportation needs; driving experience is a plus Strong caregiving background with experience. Pay:
$17.00 - $23.50 per hour
