Role Description The Personal Support Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Lewiston, ME, providing direct in-home support to clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with personal care needs, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility, while maintaining privacy and dignity. The role also involves light housekeeping, meal preparation, and support with errands or appointments to help clients maintain a safe and organized home environment. The specialist will observe and report changes in client condition, follow care plans, and communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and families. This position requires reliability, professional conduct, and a strong commitment to respectful, person-centered care. Qualifications Ability to apply strong Analytical Skills to assess client needs, follow care plans, and recognize changes in condition. Competence in Technical Support and Troubleshooting related to basic use of household or assistive devices and simple documentation systems. Demonstrated Customer Support and Communication skills to build trust, respond to client concerns, and interact professionally with families and colleagues. Experience or training as a Personal Support Specialist, Certified Nursing Assistant, or similar direct-care role is preferred. Knowledge of basic personal care, safe transfer techniques, and infection control practices. Ability to work independently in client homes, maintain boundaries, and manage time effectively. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant caregiving certifications or PSS training are an asset. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally within Lewiston, ME and surrounding areas as needed.
