Join Our Care Team Make a difference every day by caring for those who served. Maine Veterans' Homes is seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Support Specialist (PSS). As a PSS, you'll play a vital role in helping our residents live safely, comfortably, and with dignity.
Available Shift Day Shift:
6:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Position Summary As a PSS, you will provide compassionate, resident-centered care by assisting with activities of daily living while promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life. Working alongside nurses and other caregivers, you'll help create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for the veterans entrusted to our care. Key Responsibilities Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living (ADLs) Support resident mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation Assist with meals, hydration, and feeding as needed Observe residents and report changes in condition to the nursing team Provide companionship, emotional support, and meaningful interactions Maintain accurate documentation Follow all safety, infection prevention, and resident care policies Work collaboratively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team Qualifications Current Personal Support Specialist (PSS) certification required Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required.
