Job Description

Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Staff to provide essential support and assistance to individuals with diverse needs in various care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to person-centered care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring memory or dementia care. Live in gets there live in quarters for being home at night a morning care. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure resident health and safety. Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and maintain detailed documentation within electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Provide specialized care for residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory impairments through tailored activities and behavioral management strategies. Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and hydration to promote nutritional well-being. Utilize manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury. Engage residents in social activities and recreational programs that foster independence and community involvement. Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control procedures, including cleaning resident areas and equipment regularly. Document care activities thoroughly while adhering to privacy regulations; communicate effectively with team members regarding resident needs. Drive residents when required for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety at all times. Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, geriatrics, and long-term care practices. Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care with compassion and professionalism. Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid is required; additional training in medication administration is preferred. Experience operating EMR systems for documentation purposes; familiarity with Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks associated with caregiving roles. Valid driver's license may be required for transportation duties; a clean driving record is preferred.
