Job Description
Position Summary The Group Home Support Worker provides direct support to youth in a residential setting, ensuring safety, structure, and consistency while reinforcing independent living skills and supporting progress toward service plan goals. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Job Responsibilities Providing support and ensuring the safety and well-being of youth Supporting daily routines, including meals, hygiene, and household tasks Reinforcing life skills through prompting and guidance Monitoring behavior and providing redirection as needed Assisting with transportation to school, work, and appointments Maintaining a safe, clean, and structured environment Documenting and reporting activities, behaviors, and incidents per MDHHS requirements Communicating with the Life Skills Coach and treatment team Supporting implementation of service plans Modeling appropriate behavior and boundaries Skills & Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with youth with emotional and behavioral needs Ability to maintain professional boundaries Strong observational and documentation skills Ability to manage behaviors and de-escalate situations Ability to work independently The State requires the home to be staffed a minimum of 16 hours per day which includes during sleeping hours; therefore, some of the hours for this position are non-business hours, such as 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or holidays. Our main need currently is 3rd shift.
